It was in the mid 1960's that Jim moved to Suffolk following a job offer. It took a few months for him to settle into the town and find a house, and when he did May soon moved in with him and their two children. The first house they lived in was on Parkway estate, where they had very many happy memories. May started a window cleaning business with her friend Jean, which was a success, but alas short lived when Jean broke her leg when she fell down a ladder. May eventually worked in several factories and ended up in the canteen at HMP (Haverhill Meat Products), until she retired.
